Citi appoints Asian based banker to be Chief Operating Officer of Citi Global Wealth

Valentin Valderrabano will be the new Chief Operating Officer for Citi Global Wealth. Valentin was most recently the Consumer Business Manager (CBM) for Citibank Korea. In this role, he delivered growth for the business by leading the transformation of the Wealth Management model and strengthening digital and mobile capabilities.

As COO, he will drive excellence globally for CGW through effective Business Management, Business Planning, MORs, Financial and Expense Management, Change Management, Risk & Controls coordination and maintaining a strong partnership with Technology.

Over the course of his nearly 20 years at Citi, he has gained a tremendous amount of experience and perspective through leadership roles across several businesses and regions including Spain, London, Greece, Singapore, the U.S. and most recently, Korea. Before joining Citi, Valentin worked at The Coca-Cola Company in the U.S. and Mexico.

Valentin will transition into his role as CGW COO beginning in July and plans to move to the U.S. this summer. Ji-Kang Kim, currently the head of retail banking at Citibank Korea, will become the new Consumer Business Manager for Korea as of July 1.
